How do teams qualify from each group?
In the new 2026 World Cup format, the top two from each group (24 teams) qualify directly for the round of 32. Additionally, the 8 best third-placed teams also advance, making 32 teams for the knockout stage.
Group stage points system:
- 3Win: 3 points
- 1Draw: 1 point
- 0Loss: 0 points
In case of a tie on points, the following criteria apply: goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head result, fair play and FIFA draw.
